[Update 30 Dec] Official images have landed and so does a new release date. The collaborative pairs will go live on Bodega on 30 Dec (EST) and be up for raffle the same day on Sneaker Politics. The 3D G.R.I.D. Hurricane will go for US$160 and the Shadow 6000 for US$150. You’re either the tortoise or the hare, depending on how fast you head over to get yours.

LA-based label Maybe Tomorrow may be better known for their apparel in the status quo. Thanks to head honcho, Mark Nguyen however, the door seems open for them to foray into the sneaker industry. Having previously designed for the Massachusetts shoemaker, he now gets to bring his label’s name into their collective body of work.

Aptly named “Better Together”, the two-pair pack embodies the ethos that people are stronger when they work together towards a common goal, especially in the age of independence and individual fulfilment. Inspired by “The Tortoise and the Hare”, one of Aesop’s Fables, they take the spirit of the allegory and transcribe them onto the Saucony Shadow 6000 and 3D Grid Hurricane.

The former takes its design cues from the “Hare” as evident in the color palette. Tonal grey overlays sit on the white mesh base. A lighter leather shade traverses from the quarter through to the heel, and a darker hairy suede on the mudguard. The newer 3D Grid Hurricane arrives just as faithful to its source. Made from a green and orange construction with brown overlays on the mudguard and heel. “Maybe” and “Tomorrow” rest disparately on the heels of the both pairs.

The pairs will go live on Maybe Tomorrow’s from the 25th November with a wider release on 1st December. However, they’ll have a pre-release at ComplexCon between 19th to 20th November. The Shadow 6000 will come with a US$150 price tag and the 3D Grid Hurricane will go for US$160.
