First Look: Nike Dunk Low Remastered “Mint Foam”
The Nike Dunk Low reworked and remastered.
[Update 14 Dec] Official photos have finally surfaced of the retrofitted Dunk Lows. The Spring 2023 release draws more imminent especially with these set of images coming to light.
[Update 21 Nov] New images have been released of the titular pair, offering us a more detailed and angular look. Where the in-hand photos gave us a glimpse of the profiles, these succeeding ones give us a look overhead, as well as the outsoles.
From what’s discernible, the pull tab on the exposed foam tongue runs down through the throat with the laces secured through hoops as opposed to the standard eyelets. Underfoot, the sole unit is equipped with Air Zoom tech with Cream framing the soles on the fore and rear.
The Nike Dunk Low is arguably the most ubiquitous shoe in the status quo. With the now-infamous “Panda” colorway at the forefront, the pair has been reimagined with a plethora of others in recent years. But when new color schemes get tiring and difficult to keep up with, introducing a new material into the construction seems like the next best move to breathe new life into the footwear.
Thus, The Nike Dunk Low Remastered—presented here in “Mint Foam”. The silhouette gets a lifestyle-oriented makeover with a Light Silver mesh base underlined by a Pink Foam leather strip on the quarter. Much of the shoe’s character comes through the various Mint Foam leather overlays and die-cut Swooshes on the profiles.
Light Smoke Grey makes its way on the pull tab on the tongue and the ankle collar, with the rest of the upper being anchored by the white midsole and the pre-aged, yellowed outsole underfoot. The Remastered version also has imbedded in it a deconstructionist design element that comes through on the eye stay jacket and the reoriented tongue tab.
A release will take place sometime in early-2023 at Nike.com and select retailers with a price tag of US$120.
There’re other hot releases that will come through the colder months ahead though, like the long-awaited sacai x Nike Cortez 4.0 that will now include an accompanying apparel.
