A$AP Nast’s NST2 x Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5 Gets the W ASAP
The Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5 gets shrouded for utility, too loud to be shrouded in mystery.
Fall has arrived and it’s time for more considered footwear choices. Nobody wants to get caught in the rain, especially with the wrong shoes on. Thus, the arrival of the NST2 X Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5 couldn’t be more apt. Building on their previous collaboration on the Zig Kinetica II Edge, A$AP Nast and Reebok retrofit the silhouette with a modular shroud to combat the elements, similar to the componentry of the ASICS × BEAMS / Bespoke GEL-KAYANO 14 GORE-TEX(R).
A$AP Nast may not be the first when one thinks of the members of A$AP Mob, but he certainly does share the fashion acumen that’s well-imbedded in the DNA of the group, worthy enough for a deal with the Bolton shoemaker.
The NST2 X Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5’s arrives built over a mesh base with various mix of overlays: black leather from the fore through to the rear, and black patent leather on the eye stays. Arriving in a black and brown color palette, its purpose is clear that it was designed for utility through the jagged Vibram outsoles that extends from the heel all the way to the fore underfoot.
Helping its cause is the earlier-mentioned modular shroud that covers the entirety of the rear all the way to the wearer’s ankle. If the weather and terrain are in the nature of the beast, this pair will prove to be a beast of nature. It’s a pair designed for utility foremost, but reimagined with aesthetic considerations in line with the Gorpcore movement.
The pair is currently available on AFEW and BSTN, and will go live on SVD come 21st October. A wider release on Reeebok’s web store hasn’t been revealed, but it will go for US$200 as it does on the others.
