Matthew Williams’ ALYX 1017 9SM link up with the Swoosh once more, succeeding their collaboration that produced the inimitable Nike Zoom MMW 5 Clog. Next on their agenda, they return from terra incognita to more familiar waters by taking on a beloved basketball classic in the Air Jordan 12.

While the iconic pair has seen numerous collaborations before, none could be quite as bold as these incoming ones—one in the Jordan staple “UNC” colorway, the other in “Gym Red”. The reimagining doesn’t deviate too much from the original blueprint, but as far as the choice of colors, it’s taken to a place only Givenchy’s creative director can: at the coalescence of aggressive and elegance.

Until more information and images surface, the two pairs remain an enigma. However, we can expect the label’s head honcho to inject his own design DNA into the long-established silhouette. How his artistic acumen will manifest on the Air Jordan 12, will surely be a surprise worth the wait.
