[Update 27 Oct 2022] More images of the rumored fragment design x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “White/Blue” have leaked, including one from Hiroshi Fujiwara himself. The new photos showcase the highly-anticipated sneakers with a predominantly-white leather upper and a Sail midsole. Hits of Fujiwara’s signature blue appear on the reverse Swoosh, heel tab and outsole, rounding up the shoe in true blue fragment style.
The NBA offseason is about to come to an end with preseason games having begun. On 30th September, NBA champion Golden State Warriors faced off the Washington Wizards in Japan’s Saitama Super Arena. People may have come to see Stephen Curry play, but the loudest applause was reserved for hometown hero Rui Hachimura, who was the first Japanese player to ever be selected in the NBA Draft in 2019. But court side, Hiroshi Fujiwara stole the “thunder,” pun intended.
First teased sometime in late-2021, fragment design head honcho brings it to the fore of our collective consciousness once more by wearing the unreleased pair to the game, adding more coal to the hype train’s engine.
The offering comes with a white premium leather upper. The color palette of its predecessor is reapplied to the followup. Blue accents appear on the tongue tag, enveloping the sock liner and the heel tab. It makes a more dominant presence however on the lateral Swoosh and the outsole, covering them in their entirety.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Travis Scott pair without the hallmark reverse Swoosh, as seen on the lateral. On the medial however, is the achromatic inverse. Lastly, Sail laces and midsoles wrap things up, giving the silhouette an aged aesthetic.
As enigmatic as Fujiwara himself, not much is known about the pair just yet except for what’s discernible from these photos. The tripartite collection has been one of the most highly-coveted in recent times and a sequel is sure to drum up the same. Any news regarding Travis or fragment usually travels “lighting” fast. So expect us to catch it in a bottle, and deliver it to you.
