The NBA offseason is about to end, with preseason games having begun. On 30th September, NBA champion Golden State Warriors faced offagainst the Washington Wizards in Japan’s Saitama Super Arena. People may have come to see Stephen Curry play, but the loudest applause was reserved for hometown hero Rui Hachimura, who was the first Japanese player to ever be selected in the NBA Draft in 2019. But courtside, Hiroshi Fujiwara stole the “thunder,” pun intended.
First teased sometime in late 2021, fragment design head honcho brings it to the fore of our collective consciousness by wearing the unreleased pair to the game, adding more coal to the hype train’s engine.
The offering comes with a premium white leather upper. The color palette of its predecessor is reapplied to the follow-up. Blue accents appear on the tongue tag, enveloping the sock liner and the heel tab. However, they make a more dominant presence on the lateral Swoosh and the outsole, covering them in their entirety.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Travis Scott pair without the hallmark reverse Swoosh, as seen on the lateral. On the medial, however, is the achromatic inverse. Lastly, Sail laces and midsoles wrap things up, giving the silhouette an aged aesthetic.
As enigmatic as Fujiwara himself, not much is known about the pair except for what’s discernible from these photos. The tripartite collection has been one of the most highly coveted in recent times, and a sequel is sure to drum up the same. Any news regarding Travis or fragment usually travels “lightning” fast. So expect us to catch it in a bottle and deliver it to you.
