[Update 21 Oct 2022] One Piece and Vans have created more footwear and all-new apparel as more images have surfaced to conclude the entire capsule collection. The latter, which consists of work jackets and t-shirts, has pictures of Monkey D. Luffy and his ten-person crew as well as the Straw Hat’s Jolly Roger. The sneaker lineup consists of an Authentic, an Old Skool, and a SK8-Hi: from Zoro to Franky, the Authentic features the individual symbols of the MC’s core nakama. The Old Skool is decorated with several Devil Fruits, each painted on a background that resembles the sky. The SK8-Hi transports us to the era of Punk Hazard.

[Update 29 Sep 2022] More images of the One Piece x Vans collection have surfaced. Alongside the previously-seen Vans Authentic, there is also an additional purple pair of Vans Old Skool centered around another main character Nico Robin.

Now with a closer look at the Authentic, we also see details like the Vans branding over a red compass on the tongue, a red waffle outsole and One Piece x Vans co-branded insole. The checkerboard-print shoe box also features co-branding on the lid. Keep your eyes peeled as more release details of the One Piece x Vans collab start to trickle in!

Line

Is it possible to not know One Piece in this day and age? A series that has been running since the 90’s, the manga and anime has garnered a dedicated fanbase that would traverse the East Blue to the New World in a heartbeat. The Straw Hat Pirates themselves have crossed the seven seas and more at this point, but for the first time, they are anchoring their ship on the Vans Authentic.

Leaked by Reddit user @No_Strawberry_8894, this One Piece x Vans Authentic will come in straw-like weaves and color — an obvious nod to the series’ protagonist, Straw Hat Luffy. Covering the upper in patches are instantly recognisable character and ship logos. In true pirate fashion, the usual Authentic laces are swapped out for rope-like laces.

Besides the shoes themselves, the shoe box also sees a One Piece redesign. The Straw Hat Pirates’ skull logo are repeated on across the box in Vans’ checkerboard fashion. Though much of the shoe box is obscured, we expect it to carry further branding elements on the lid.

This One Piece x Vans Authentic is expected to drop on 11 November, just in time for Pirate Hunter Zoro’s birthday. A coincidence? We think not!

In other leaked collaborations, AMBUSH and Nike are cooking up some Air Force 1s with an extended Swoosh.
