[Update 25 Apr 2023] Along with the official images, new ones depict what seems to be a special promotional box to accompany the shoes. Therein sees co-branded Nike SB and Jarritos bottles in a variety of flavors. It’s the first time it’s been brought to light and though information is scant at the moment, more should arrive ahead of its 4 May release date. It wouldn’t be too long a wait. Stay tuned!

[Update 10 Apr 2023] An accompanying t-shirt first emerged a little over a month ago but it seems even the tee won’t be arriving alone. It will arrive together with a coterie of hooded jackets, hoodies, and more, all in the signature relaxed silhouette of Nike SB.

Their colors corresponded to the soda’s natural flavors like tamarind, mandarin, amongst many others. The hype train has been gaining locomotion since it was first teased last year. With the 4 May release date imminent, news of its accompanying apparel are sure keep appetites whet.

[Update 28 Mar 2023] It seems like we are getting the Jarritos a little later than expected. With a new release date of 4 May, expect the Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low to arrive via Nike SNKRS and select retailers alongside collaborative apparels. In the meantime, we will keep you informed if there any changes.

[Update 3 Mar 2023] It seems like the Jarritos x Nike collab isn’t just a shoe drop—fizzling to the surface is apparel that will be part of the launch! While only one tee has made a sparkling appearance via @ovrnundr’s Twitter, it’s a telling piece of the collaboration’s logo, which sees a bubble “JARRITOS” font as the centrepiece while a tonal, emerald Swoosh leaves a subtle embroidered mark across the “O”. On the sleeves is the Spanish phrase “DISEÑADO EN BEAVERTON”, or “Designed in Beaverton”—no prizes if you guessed why. The tee is likely to drop alongside the sneakers on 1st April.

[Update 6 Jan 2023] The Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low has a new rumored release date of 1st April 2023. Additionally, thanks to prvt.selection on Instagram, new leaked imagery of the pair showcases a tear-away feature on its uppers. By using a precision tool, you can cut off the canvas overlaps on the Swoosh logo as well as the tan overlays to reveal a funky orange layer beneath, giving collectors the freedom to customize their pairs if they so chose to. We’ll continue to bring you updates here, but for the meantime you can enjoy more images of the dissembled features in the top slider above.

[Update 21 Dec 2022] On-feet looks of this sparkling Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low has surfaced courtesy of the trusty @yankeekicks. Expected details are presented in greater detail and it is revealed that three lace colors—the quintessential green, orange and staple white—will accompany the pair. While release dates are still bubbling but have yet to pop up, we expect the collaboration to land on SNKRS in the coming months. For more images, look to the top slider above.

[Update 16 Dec] Things just got a lot more interesting. And so it seems that the titular shoe features a tearaway upper. It’s been a new ingredient that Nike has been experimenting with on their other silhouettes as well. Stylistically, these opens plenty of doors. With some craftiness, one can customize their own pair to fit their own palate. The reveal indubitably adds a new dimension to the collaborative pair’s ‘flavor profile’.

[Update 7 Dec] On-hand images of the Jarittos SB Dunk have been shared by @woganwodeyang. The set gives a closer, detailed look at all its finer details. From the multi-material hemp and leather construction, the collaborators’s branding embroideries, through to the other decorative stitching along the upper, and collab-specific imprint on the tongue tag.

[Update 25 Nov] More images have surfaced of the collaborative pair, courtesy of @prvt.selection. It offers more detailed looks compared to the few images released thus far. The construction and other details are more vivid, with a singular view of the insoles as well, embellished with Jarritos’s famous iconographies along with a dual-branded logo at the heel.

A price point was also disclosed pointing the pair’s RRP at US$130. They’re expected to drop at the precipice of the warmer months next year.

[Update 22 Nov] Sometimes, the rumor mill does have veracity, albeit in modicum amounts. When it was purported in September, there were no accompanying images and information was scant, and it seemed all too random a collaboration for it to be true.

In retrospect however, Nike has delivered on some veritable partnerships with F&B companies. Case in point: the Chunky Dunky with Ben & Jerry’s. And with new images ascertaining the existence of the Jarritos Dunks, speculations can be put to rest.

The pair’s depicted with a white leather base layer with the canvas overlays—in beige—thematically reminiscent of a produce sack. The Swooshes take on the same material but dressed in the signature green of Jarritos. These signature color palette of the aforementioned and orange take up real estate on the branding on the tongue tag, as well as the outsole underfoot. In addition, Jaritto’s jar logo, embroidered on the lateral heel, gets modified as if the contents are being poured out. They make another imprint on the heel counter.

Neither parties have offered word about the collaborative SB Dunks, but the shoes are expected to drop sometime in 2023.

According to insiders in the footwear industry, the Mexican soda company Jarritos is collaborating with Nike SB to make a Dunk Low for 2023. The release date of the shoes is predicted to be in the spring, next year, but no official details nor images of the Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration have surfaced, and the two brands neither confirm nor deny the partnership rumor.

Silhouette-wise, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the inspiration for the theme is the soda’s myriad of colorful flavors. Think color-blocking with the placement of the logo similar to the 7-Eleven Dunk collab on the heel counter.

In recent years, Nike SB has evolved to incorporate more well-known companies, resulting in the creation of the 7-Eleven Dunk, Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Dunky, as well as the polychromatic-Swooshed Polaroid SBs.

In addition to having its own NFT line, Jarritos has experimented with other streetwear offerings, working with Kith to create a limited-edition pack of bottles last August, and—so on-brand—a pair of socks with Urban Outfitters.
