New York City, “the greatest city in the world” as declared by Lin-Manuel Miranda in Hamilton. A place with such a long and storied history that even the establishments within it have their own. It stands as the mecca for many things not limited to music and art, fashion and sports. And lest we forget, gastronomy. NYC after all is—a melting pot.

There’re many things to celebrate in the “concrete jungle where dreams are made of” and one of them amongst many things is their food establishments. In this case, the pizzerias. The homage to some of New York’s have been done before by way of the FILA “Famous NY Style Pizza” Collection released sometime in July. This time, adidas serves it own platter by giving a Bed-Stuy gem, “Cuts & Slices” their own Forum ’84 Hi.

It gives direct nods to the work of founder Randy Mclaren, who used to run a sneaker concierge service before starting his pizzeria. Aside from the embroidery “CUTS&SLICES” embroidery on the heel, their address is also imprinted on the collar where the hangtag of the logo stands adjacent. On the aptly dough-colored strap reads: “Pull Up Beloved”.

Remaining branding elements lay out across the tongue tag, the adidas trefoil debossed on the lateral heel, proximate to its embossment on the midsole. The color palette (or palate) gives the pair its flavor through a sauce-colored red spread from the toebox through to the tongue and collar, contrary to the various white overlays.

The “Cuts & Slices” adidas will be available early through a special pre-launch event on 24th September with a wider release on 4th October on adidas’ brick-and-click stores.
