Early Look at this Lilac Purple New Balance 2002R Protection Pack
Hues of lilac and lavender served distressed.
The New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack” (or refined future, as designer Yue Wu would prefer it to be dubbed) is the Boston-based brand’s foray into the deconstructed aesthetic. Looking as if it has been gnawed on with blisters of torn patches around the usual 2002R silhouette, it was a hit among New Balance aficionados and sneakerheads for its unique distress and tasteful neutral color combinations. So successful it was that NB had no choice but to bring back a second installation with bolder colorways that also flew off retail shelves.
That was way back in May, and it seems like New Balance is gearing up for a third installation of this pack with a lilac and lavender purple colorway revealed by sample collector @woganwodeyang. Retaining similar cut outs as its previous editions, dusty purple hues take over the hairy suede overlays while the underlying mesh is a pinker lilac. Subdued grays land on the quarters and toeboxes. Similarly, the tongue is in a similar granite gray that showcases an exposed-foam circle. Creamy white laces finish off the look.
Release information, though sparse, are sure to land soon. Keep the SNKRDUNK Magazine in your bookmarks to be updated with the latest information. In the meantime, check out the 1906R edition of the Protection Pack.
