Nothing Else Matters Because Supreme x Metallica is Coming this FW2022
Supreme and Metallica are both icons in their own fields, and the joining of the two is bound to make waves.
Metallica’s list of accolades is endless – receiving eight Grammy Awards, having 16 platinum records under their belt, Rolling Stone’s greatest metal band… They are known as one of the most legendary bands of all time for good reason. Beyond their musical achievements, Metallica is also famous for influencing much of rock’s fashion, or anti-fashion to be exact. While other bands in their heyday were donning impressive and eye-catching costumes, the band members were often decked out in T-shirts, ripped jeans and beaten up sneakers. As vocalist James Hetfield deftly puts it, the only look they had was “ugly”.
With such an approach to fashion, we’re not surprised that Supreme is slated to have collaborative capsule with Metallica in their FW22 collection. Since the early 2000s, the brand has contributed to the anti-fashion movement through ironic design choices and its anti-establishment roots. Not to mention, the skatewear label also released an entire collection in 2017 that looked blatantly inspired by Metallica’s Load album cover with blood and spunk swirls.
Though no concrete images or information has dropped for this launch, we expect more news to be released in the coming days. Fret not, we’ll be updating this page as more information comes along.
In the meantime, Post Malone has also linked up with Japanese artist Verdy to release a merch collection for his latest Twelve Carat Toothache album.
