New Balance is Launching a 990 “Navy Pack”
Teddy Santis continues mobilising the 'Made in USA' line to produce the market's most matchable sneakers. This time, he's set his sights on the modern NB990.
Teddy Santis’ New Balance Made in USA line, renowned for its high-quality and easily style-able products, will soon be dropping two more 990’s in a “Navy/Castlerock” colourway! News of these pairs comes after three consecutive Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance collabs for the Rainier, 550 and 650R were scheduled for release in the latter half of 2022. Santis must be looking to continue his streak with the 990V2 and 990V3 silhouettes, both which recently gained widespread popularity. Why? More and more, consumers are prioritising neutrality, matchability and comfort in their outfits, boxes that NB990 silhouettes definitely tick.
The colourway Santis has chosen for these new additions is “Navy/Castlerock”. While the base of the upper consists of a light blue mesh, this is mostly covered by contrasting dark Navy and grey Castlerock suede accents. Combined with a sole unit that matches white, cream and grey, this makes for a calm, yet visually appealing colourway – Santis clearly envisions these to be an easy choice for general use.
This “Navy Pack” will be releasing through New Balance Japan on 25 Aug 2022 for a retail price of ¥31,900 (~US$236). Though no official global release date is currently known, it’s likely to be scheduled before the end of 2022 – keep your eyes peeled!
