END. and Adidas Leave the Pottery Studio with a New Ultraboost

The duo that never runs out of ideas are creating their first UltraBOOST - makes you wonder how quickly this would've sold out if they released it back in 2015.

From the END. x adidas “Alternative Luxury” in 2020, to “Tennis Club” and “Varsity” in 2022, the collaborative duo have had no shortage of ideas and themes for new sneakers and apparel. This month, they’re swapping up the theme again and heading into the pottery studio in a “Ceramic Craze”.

This ceramic-themed colourway has found its way onto one of adidas’ most well-known silhouettes, the UltraBOOST OG 1.0. From afar, it vaguely looks like a repeat of the OG 1.0 “Cream”, one of UltraBOOST’s most popular colourways back in its prime. However, upon closer inspection it becomes clear that this new addition is something completely different and novel. The brands took a “trip to the pottery studio” and applied their findings to the design – the colourway comprises multiple tones of cream and white, which match the typical wooden brown, creamy clay and white surfaces one would see in a pottery studio.

Colours aside, the UltraBOOST’s leather heel counter and side-wall caging both feature a cracked leather texture, similar to that of cracked ceramic on old pottery which ties down the overall theme. Uniquely, the END. logo shows up on the tongue tab, while adidas’ branding takes up its usual spot on the toe. Overall, the “Ceramic Craze” that’s taken over the collaboration is likely a byproduct of today’s wave of neutral-coloured fashion. This results in a sneaker that’s easily paired with any outfit, which still contains enough unique elements to catch any onlooker’s eye and spark interest.

The END. x adidas UltraBOOST OG 1.0 “Ceramic Craze” is currently on a live draw via END. Clothing ENDing on 20 Aug 2022, 7:01AM BST, following which the collaboration will officially release the colourway.
