Though NBA veteran Scottie Pippen has had a signature shoe line with Nike (anyone remember the Nike Air Pippen?), the basketball player’s legacy is more commonly associated with the Nike Air More Uptempo. After the Chicago Bulls’ star was seen in the silhouette’s striking “AIR” uppers at his fourth NBA title, sixth All-Star Game and even when he received the ’96 Olympic gold medal, the model is practically synonymous with Pippen’s legacy.

Now, 30 years since its first release, Nike is refreshing Nike Air More Uptempo into a summer-ready slide that allows your toes and heels to feel the air, literally. Though much of the OG Nike Air More Uptempo’s upper has been shaved off, the iconic “AIR” branding in graffiti-like bubble letters remain atop a padded top. A crisp white lines the branding. An embroidered Swoosh makes an appearance beside the nubuck forefoot strap. Further branding is found on the textured insole while the underfoot retains the Nike Air More Uptempo’s sole unit.
