First Look: Bianca Chandon x Vault by Vans Distressed Sneakers
Vans and Bianca Chandon join the distressed sneaker trend with two pairs of aged-looking skate shoes.
[Update 16 Aug 2022] Two more Vans classic silhouettes have joined the lineup of Bianca Chandon x Vault by Vans distressed sneaker collab—a red Old Skool and black/white slip-on. A release date of 20 August has also been confirmed. Which colorway and model are you eyeing?
Early images of a collaboration between Bianca Chandon and Vault by Vans have surfaced. Bianca Chandon, the label founded by American skateboarder Alex Olson, has always favoured a 70s aesthetic, evident from their “Lover” graphic apparel range. For their first partnership with the skate shoe brand, they have channeled their love for vintage style into two pairs of sneakers.
The Bianca Chandon x Vans OG SK8-Hi and OG Authentic both arrive with a aged, worn-in look. Alex and team focused on giving Van’s iconic vulcanised waffle sole unit a scuffed-up look, with most parts of the cream-colored sole looking like ink has spilled over. Near the rear, Bianca Chandon’s signature is printed in blue pen ink. Completing this distressed look are the intentonally-dirtied white laces on both pairs.
For the uppers, the high-top SK8-Hi features a gray/black colorway, with black stars printed all over the side panels. Black suede covers the toe box, forefoot, and heel cup. The OG Authentic, on the other hand, sports a blue/white colorway with blue stars.
The Bianca Chandôn x Vault by Vans sneakers retail at US$133 and US$115 respectively. Curiously, Hypebeast and retailers like Footpatrol have removed previous articles and listings linking to the shoes. Follow along as we bring you more updates on this collab.
