Round 1: Fight! —the classic opening of a match in the Japanese competitive fighting video game, Street Fighter. First debut in 1987, Street Fighter became the best-selling game since the golden age of arcade video games and is thus regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time.

The previous sneaker collaboration with the classic game “Street Fighter” was with adidas earlier this year. Following up, Street Fighter is pushing out another collaboration with Reebok based on the character Dhalsim from Street Fighter on the silhouette of Zig Kinetica 2.5.

The sneakers come constructed in a mix of tumbled leather, suede, and mesh. The colors representing the character Dhalsim are olive green and desert yellow and it is no surprise that the sneaker is dressed primarily in the two colors. In the game, Dhalsim’s arms and legs can stretch freely and it is reflected through a deconstructed brown cutout to showcase Dhalsim’s in-game agility.

The most noticeable part of the sneakers is the skull accessory as the lace dubrae, which perfectly corresponds to Dhalsim’s iconic necklace, and the metal accents at the eyelets, echo the bracelets on Dhalsim’s wrists. Finally, the flame pattern at the heel matches Dhalsim’s skill to conjure fire. A Street Fighter-inspired custom sneaker box makes the Street Fighter x Reebok Zig Kinetica 2.5 one of a kind.
