After delivering new glow-in-the-dark elements on the BAPE STA with Razer and debuting an all-new BAPE Road STA Express silhouette, the Nigo-founded A Bathing Ape is rekindling its friendship with New Balance. Bouncing off their well-received collaboration on the 2002R, the pair are now looking towards coloring one of New Balance’s quieter models — the 57/40.

As expected from any Bathing Ape collaboration, the BAPE x New Balance 57/40 will come in vibrant colors that don BAPE’s famous camo and shark face — a look reminiscent of BAPE’s iconic Shark Hoodies that dominated streetwear fashion in the ’00s. The first offering sees the New Balance 57/40 take on the signature BAPE camo look of green, tan and brown. Dark greens are found along the mudguard and toebox while forest green elements line the eyelet and mudguard. Tan shades dress the midsole and toebox while the lateral panel features the camo prominently.

The next iteration is perhaps the most eye-catching within the collection, with a mix of pinks, orange, blue and black poured onto the upper. The BAPE camo, too, takes on a more candy-sweet appearance. The last pair retains New Balance’s signature tonal grays, but panels of camo and BAPE’s logos are found on the tongue. All three sneakers are finished with heels that bare BAPE’s shark teeth.

Accompanying these BAPE x New Balance 57/40 are a collection of sweats that match each color variation, allowing you to rep a full collaboration look. This capsule is slated to drop on BAPE’s webstore on 27 July, 10AM EST (10PM SGT). Each sneaker is expected to retail for US$185. The apparel ranges from US$55 to US$159.
