PG-13 Gets Some “Hot Wheels” From Nike for his Road to a Championship
A PG6 iteration with so much fire that even Johnny Blaze might lace up in them.
7-time NBA All-Star Paul George is on his sixth signature shoe with Nike and over the years, he’s had some of the most interesting collaborations that any player has; from Gatorade, NASA, to PlayStation. For the PG 6, George and Hot Wheels – the classic American toy brand – delivers a rendition as dazzling a sight as the miniature model cars are on a Toys“R”Us shelf.
The upper features an ice cold blue to red hot gradation from the toe box to the collar. The entirety of the throat’s a checkered racing flag, and on the tongue’s the iconic Hot Wheels logo. But who can say the branding’s theirs without some fire accoutrement? Thus, the flaming reverse Swoosh on the lateral side and the #13 on the medial and insole.
Moving on from the Air strobel system of the PG4 and 5, the PG6 is built upon Nike React foam, one of the softest cushioning technologies in their repertoire for the midsole. The outsole’s patterned to suit PG’s two-way, multi-directional game with a forefoot arch wrap to keep the foot secure inside the plush upper.
A release date should be announced soon but they should be out by the time the 2022-23 NBA season starts. Stay tuned!
