With retro and vintage becoming the coveted trend in fashion, adidas’ decision to bring back its 1996 Adimatic model was met with a warm welcome. This is especially so given the model’s oversized look and skate-appropriate puffy design — a sign of the time it was born into. After a Bright Yellow colorway was dropped in June, and more recently, a collaboration with Nigo’s Human Made, the adidas Adimatic is returning in a “Purple Tint” color.

In this iteration, the adidas Adimatic takes on a suede upper dipped in a blooming lavender hue. White Three Stripes branding is stitched to the sides, albeit thicker than its modern day rendition. Staying true to the 90’s chunky aesthetic, the laces are also wider in width and come in a complementary white. Adidas branding is embroidered in a silver white on the heel while a translucent gum outsole wraps up the design.

This adidas Adimatic Purple Tint will be made available via Japan’s adidas and atmos on 23 July. It will retail for ¥13200 (~US$96).
