In a picture uploaded by Olympic track and field athlete Shaun Maswanganyi, Travis Scott was spotted donning an unreleased Cactus Jack x Nike jacket. The jacket looks to be made of a navy blue nylon material with the Nike and Cactus Jack logos printed on the pocket. Lining the zipper, collar and cuffs is a black ribbed fabric.
This straightforward jacket certainly departs from the usual Cactus Jack apparel look, and there’s a reason why. This jacket is part of the Cactus Jack running kit that was gifted from Travis Scott to Carl Lewis, who is the Senior Coach of the Track and Field Program at the University of Houston and a holder of nine Olympic gold medals. Alongside the jacket, a Cactus Jack x Nike co-branded shorts, tee and a Nike Waffle One were also included in the kit.
It is likely that this running kit was given to Carl Lewis for his participation in the global #RunnersHelpingRunners campaign hosted by Nike, which was created as a space for runners to share their expertise and tips. Given that Carl Lewis is currently coaching Shaun Maswanganyi, it is no surprise that a picture with Travis Scott appeared on the young athlete’s feed.
Though there have been no news about whether these co-branded pieces will be made available to the general public, it does suggest that further collaboration between the two brands might be on the horizon. In the meantime, why not check out the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 “Black/Phantom” dropping on 15 December?
