Following up on its collaborative Nike Air Jordan 5 “Jade” sneaker, Edison Chen’s CLOT has joined hands with Timberland for another Chinese-themed collab. This time, CLOT turned to another cultural icon, the dragon dance, for inspiration.

“We introduced the dragon dance because it takes more than one person to complete this task,” says Chen. “Timberland is a sustainable, earth-loving company, and it takes harmony and teamwork to be able to achieve a better world, which, at the same time, are all very core CLOT values.”

The main star of the collection is undoubtedly the CLOT x Timberland 3-Eye Lug Handsewn Boat Shoes. Coming in two colorways Black and Wheat, a series of Chinese dragon motifs have been hand-embroidered in silk on the shoes. Upon closer inspection, you will also see that CLOT and Timberland have given the shoe an uptilted toe, a nod to the growling dragon head. Red and white rope laces also help add an extra Chinoiserie touch.

This collection marks the first time the two brands are working together, and the boat shoes feature Timberland’s eco-innovative materials such as Better Leather and a 34% recycled rubber outsole.

On top of the CLOT x Timberland 3-eye boat shoes, there is also an accompanying range of apparel that includes t-shirts, jackets and sweatshirts featuring similar dragon motifs and embroidery.
