As we enter the later half of 2022, it is to be expected that brands are starting to ramp up towards holiday releases. For the Christmas season this year, the Jordan brand seems to be in the process of preparing a new Jordan, specifically the Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG “Twist 2.0”.

Made obvious from its name, this Jordan release is an update of their previous holiday release Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG Twist. Retaining the same light grey leather upper and black overlay panel look, which is reminiscent of Panda’s color blocking, the main difference in the 2.0 is the furry elements.

Compared to its parent design, which also has animal hair exteriors, the Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG Twist 2.0 is bolder in its execution. Unlike the previous short, trimmed hair that was laid over the black panels, the 2.0 sees longer faux pony hair attached to the premium leather. The longer hairs give this edition a more rugged feel that adds visible textural interest to the shoe.

Midsoles and outsole take on a white/black combo, allowing the fur to be the main focal point. Rounding off the look is a metal Wings plaque on the collar, elevating the luxe of the shoe as compared to the Jordans’ usual leather stamp or embroidery treatment.

The Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG “Twist 2.0” will drop on 22 December 2022 with a retail price of USD$180. Until then, keep scrolling to see the leaked images by @shawnleekix.
