Images of the Jordan Why Not .5 “Can’t Beat That Price”
Since its initial release in early 2022, the Why Not .5 silhouette has not received much attention from Nike and Jordan Brand. Though the internet is teeming with a variety of colourway designs, storefronts have only seen very limited releases of this wacky shoe. For those looking to get your hands on this elusive silhouette, fret not – the wider release of the new “Can’t Beat That Price” colourway has been confirmed!
The “Can’t Beat That Price” colourway makes use of a variety of pastel colours to produce a cheeky, on-the-nose design. It’s a gaudy mix of bright shapes, textures and even accessories that appears to be inspired by supermarket commercials, posters and billboards of the ’80s. The colour palette, containing light hues of orange, blue, tan and purple, invites one’s attention from a distance. Possibly the most eye-catching element of this shoe is the shiny gold dubrae, which spells out “CAN’T BEAT – THAT PRICE” in a retro italic font. Meanwhile, the insoles solidify this vintage supermarket theme by spelling out “WHY NOT – 129.99”.
Altogether, the Why Not .5 “Can’t Beat That Price” is a unique and exciting addition to Westbrook’s Why Not shoe line. It’s expected to retail for US$130 (though we’re hoping it’ll sell at $129.99 for theming’s sake). The colourway will hit Finish Line and JD Sports US storefronts on 21 July at 10:00AM EDT, with a second release via Nike anticipated to follow shortly after. More details below.
In other sneaker-related news, fan-favourite Air Jordan 7 “Citrus” will finally be receiving a retro on this July.
