There’s no secret about how the Air Jordan 7 “Citrus” colourway became a cult-favourite of the late 2000’s. It was such a departure from the OG Air Jordan 7 style, and stood boldly on its own among the other retro designs. It’s anyone’s guess why Nike and Jordan Brand held off on a retro of the coveted “Citrus”, but it looks like they’ll be giving the crowd what they want this July!

The Air Jordan 7 “Citrus” sports a black nubuck upper, held together by yellow stitching that both contrasts with the deep black background and highlights the shoe’s design lines. Besides this, the shoe also features other citrusy elements that stand out from the upper: Citrus and Varsity Red angular panels that resemble mountain peaks rising from the midsole and heel, a Citrus embroidered Jumpman on the ankle, as well as Varsity Red accents on the tongue, heel tab, and Michael Jordan’s jersey number “23” on the heel. 

Meanwhile, the sole unit makes use of geometric Citrus, Varsity Red and grey shapes on the outsole. Combined with the large Varsity Red jumpman underfoot, these add to the shoe’s overall visual appeal by breaking up the dotted black tread.

The 2022 Air Jordan 7 “Citrus” is expected to hit storefronts on 13 Aug, with a retail price of US$200 in full-family sizing. More details below.
