Mark Gonzales, pro skateboarder slash artist, and adidas have been longstanding partners – almost 25 years and counting. Despite the many years of collaborative efforts, the creative always brings something fresh to the table with every adidas release. His innovative mind has created yet another art work, but this time not on his usual SuperStars, but on an adidas Ultraboost DNA model.

A running-inspired silhouette, Gonzales picked the Ultraboost DNA as his canvas for its comfort. His intention was to create a post-session chill shoe. According to him, skaters adore a comfy shoe when they go about their daily activities. The artist himself liked jumping rope in the adidas Ultraboost.

In a quintessential Gonzales style, shmoos — a friendly ghost figure that is populated throughout his adidas releases — pepper the Primeknit upper of this Ultraboost DNA. The black shmoo dons a smiling face while the white one carries an upset expression. Reflective accents are woven into the shmoos, giving them a shimmery flair under certain lights.

The shmoos also make an appearance on the insole, playfully merging with the Three Stripes Branding into a “Shmoofoil” logo. Rounding out the look is a smoky brown lace cage that matches with the gum sole. Wearers have the option of keeping on the muted laces or to swap them out for contrasting neon ones for extra fun.
