[Update 22 Jul] We finally have a confirmed release date! New images and details have also surfaced for what is now known as the “Kith for Vault by Vans Summer 2022.” The capsule contains summer-themed needlepoint reworking of the OG Classic Slip-On LX and OG Authentic LX named “Azulejo Tile,” “Vintage Rose,” “Medallion.”

The entire collection will be released in its global flagship and online stores on July 25th, 11am (EST). The shoes will come in full family sizing with the adult at US$110, the pre-school at US$55, and infant at US$50.

[Update 21 Jul] Kith founder Ronnie Fieg (@ronniefieg) announced that the Needle Point capsule will be expanded along with some leaked images from the head honcho himself. From what we can tell, the floral pattern will be worked onto a trifecta of the Old Skool, Authentic, and the Slip-Ons. The patchwork design and a never-before-seen navy floral trinket-pattern will be applied to the latter two.

There’re no other details about a release but we’ll be sure to give an update once we hear something through the grapevine, if not through an official announcement.

Kith and Vans are reuniting again after their successful 10-colorway Vans slip-on collection in 2021. Circulated by @woganwodeyang, it appears that there will be at least two models — The Authentic and Old Skool — available in their 2022 capsule. Though both spot off-white cream uppers with a woven texture, their illustration lends each pair a different mood.

The Authentic features a patchwork design in porcelain blue. Interestingly, they are reminiscent of early 20th-century tiles popular in European interior design. Similarly, the eyelets are also in the same shade of blue while the laces remain a neutral white. As per their previous collection, Kith and Vans logos are branded on the insole in a complementary navy blue.

In contrast, the Old Skool wears a softer, watercolour floral appearance. Its gentleness recalls some of Monet’s paintings, though it remains to be said what this floral pattern was inspired from. So as not to distract from the artistic design, the laces remain a blank white. Branding in this design is a pine green, matching parts of the floral motif.
