Akin to “chosen family,” the Found Family is a collective who connect through shared experiences and perspectives—regardless of background, culture, age, ethnicity, etc.—with the understanding they are on a shared journey to Pride, no matter where they are on that journey. — Converse

For Pride 2022, Converse directs its conversation to the “Found Family” concept that is particularly salient to the LGBTQ+ community. An online gallery experience spotlights how kinship and partnership are sacred connections that allow for expressions of authentic selves. Over 50 unfiltered stories of the LGBTQ+ community and how they encountered their “found families” are presented with heartfelt candour, highlighting the community’s voice. In an effort to further uplift voices in the community, Converse will also be featuring a film by Richie Shazam, the non-binary icon taking the fashion world by storm, at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

Alongside this gallery is a release of Pride-themed Converse Run Star Motion, Chuck 70 Hi, Chuck Taylor Hi and Chuck Taylor All Star, Chuck Taylor All Star Lift Ox and Chuck Taylor One Star. Lively patchwork prints dyed in rainbow gradients grace the sneakers as a celebration of family and unity. A range of apparel such as oversized tees and bucket hats with similar rainbow-prints will also be made available.

Fans of Converse would already expect this collection to have personalised component, and they would not be disappointed. Under the “Converse By You” campaign, ‘All Star’ patch, license plate, and laces can be switched up based on personal preferences, embodying the expression of self-identity that Pride Month celebrates.
