[Update 26 May 2022] Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 “Cactus Jack” is launching tomorrow! The two colourways, “Grey Haze and Dusty Sage” and “Archaeo Brown and Rust Pink”, will be made available on Nike’s SNKRS. It was also announced on Instagram that a donation will be made in honour of this collaboration to Project HEAL, Scott’s multi-tier project that aims at providing mental health resources. The sneakers will retail at USD$160. A line of apparel that includes jackets, crop tops and pants in earthy tones is also included within this collaboration. 

UPDATE [11/5]: Release date confirmed! Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 “Wheat” and “Grey Haze” will be releasing 20 May, and restocking 27 May.

1. About Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1

The Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 is rumoured to drop May 16th, 2022 in 2 colourways: “Wheat” (as seen above) that features a mix of “Coriander/Ashen Slate/Wheat/Light Sienna” and “Grey Haze” featuring “Light Smoke Grey/Honeydew/Particle Grey”.

Travis Scott is a superstar rapper from Houston. In November 2017, he announced his first collaboration with Nike. He also runs his own apparel brand under his own label “Cactus Jack”, which is making a lot of noise in the streetwear scene.

Nike Air Trainer 1 was created in 1987 and was a training shoe for workouts. It is equipped with the functionality of straps to enhance the integration with the back of the foot. The design is by Tinker Hatfield, who is the vice president of Nike and has worked on the Air Max’s and Air Jordans.

The collaborating model was first leaked in Travis Scott’s private, and now we have new on-foot photos from @stylelikekay. The design, with a print of the inverted swoosh, was used on the popular AJ1 with Travis Scott.
