[Update 7 Sep 2022] The J Balvin x Jordan Brand Air Jordan 2 and apparel collection will be released on September 15 2022 worldwide, on SNKRS and at select retailers. The artist’s home country Colombia will enjoy the release a day earlier.

The Air Jordan 2 comes in a Celestine Blue colourway, with padded panelling on the upper. Cloudy blue sky graphics are featured on the heel counter, lining, eyelets and insole. J Balvin’s signature smiley face logo adorns the inside of the tongue and heels. “Follow your light” with the light-up tongue logo feature and glow-in-the-dark outsoles, no doubt the most unique feature of this sneaker.

A pair of J Balvin x Jordan Super Play’s will be released alongside to match the Air Jordan 2. It features the same Celestine blue padded panelling, rainbow contrast stitching and J Balvin’s smiley face. The pale green foam underfoot glows in the dark as well to keep you going even when it’s dark out.

The accompanying apparel collection includes a varsity jacket, tees, tie-dye two piece sets as well as accessories like basketballs, hats and socks. Prices for apparel and accessories range between US$14 and US$500. Explore campaign images of the full collection below.

[Update 24 May 2022] New on-foot photos of the J. Balvin’s x Nike Air Jordan 2 (via @knowing_kicks) have surfaced. Balvin’s latest sneaker with the sportswear giant will come in a soothing light blue shade and features a cross of suede and mesh on the uppers. [Update 19 May 2022] Exciting news! First looks of J. Balvin’s x Nike’s Air Jordan 2 is finally available for our viewing via @solebyjc and @sneaktribe on Instagram. Per Balvin’s experimental music, his iteration of the Air Jordan 2 is a sprightly blue-toned rendition. Spotted on the heel is the artist’s signature Energia emoji — a smiling face with striking lightning bolt eyes. Clouds are a prominent graphic that covers the heel and inner lining. Despite such imagery, Balvin’s Air Jordan 2 adds a “night” element: the winged ball logo and outsoles glow in the dark in an alien green. The rumour mill suggests that the sneaker will drop in October.

J. Balvin is a Latin pop singer from Colombia and a superstar in the contemporary Reggaeton music scene. He established himself as a #1 Latin artist with the release of “MY GENTE” in 2017, and has since garnered attention not only for his music, but also as a fashion icon. The collaboration Air Jordan 1 released in December last year was also popular for its colorful design.

This time, the leaked model is a collaboration model with Air Jordan 2, which has been attracting attention again with the announcement of a collaboration model with off-white. Although we don’t know the details of the design and coloring from the currently released images, only we do know that the wing logo on the shoe tongue and the outsole will be made of glow-in-the-dark material.
