The “Elephant Pack” is the final addition to the Eames x Reebok Classic Leather collaboration, drawing inspiration from the ‘Eames Elephant’, a children’s toy that was supposed to be released back in the 1940s. Due to the design’s precise curves, the toy could not be easily mass-manufactured and only made it to factories in Eames’ 2017 collaboration with Vitra. Unfortunately, this meant Charles and Ray Eames never got to see their design experiment come to life.
Now, Eames Office is collaborating with Reebok to further realise this experiment through the all-new “Elephant Pack” silhouette. Besides an elephant head centrepiece that attaches to the laced upper, these Classic Leather sneakers also pay homage to Eames through three rich colourways, “Poppy Red”, “Ice Grey” and “Dark Lime”.
