[Update 22 Sep] Arguably the New Balance silhouette that at the status quo, stands at the fore of its catalogue. The 2002R has been one of the Boston shoemaker’s most popular offerings, particularly the ones from the colloquially-named “Protection Pack”, though officially recognized as “Refined Future”.

While the rest of the States have to wait for a bit longer, New York’s Extra Butter was given special privileges, exclusive rights to release the pack ahead of its it official date. The release will carry the “Dark Navy”, “Mirage Grey”, and “Vintage Orange” colorways.

Adopting the theme of wabi-sabi: the seeing of beauty in imperfection, the accompanying apparel produced by Extra Butter will include hand-dyed hoodies, mineral-washed tees with exposed seams, and wide trousers, amongst a list of other accessories.

On 29th September, 3pm (ET), the whole array will drop at the New York boutique’s webstore. Keep checking back in as new colorways could be on the way too. Enjoy the campaign images below.

The second installment of New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack” series is standing by, that the first series was got the sneakerheads turning!!

New Balance’s 2002R is an upgraded version of the Made in USA flagship model 2002 that was rolled out in 2010. The original model was created, and after its first release in 2020, its 10th anniversary year, its popularity exploded due to the gap between its high quality and low price. It is no exaggeration to say that this model has been a mainstay of the New Balance lineup now, with many special-order models being developed with select stores and other brands.

The new model is the second version of the Protection Pack released in 2021, and will be available in six colors this time, compared to three colors in the previous model. The cut-out finish shows a fashionable impression. The gray color is reminiscent of the first color of New Balance’s limited edition 1300 model, and the color choices, which are reminiscent of special orders, will surely catch the eyes of heads and fashion lovers.
