Kobe Bryant is a true superstar, both recorded and remembered. Early in his career, he signed a contract with adidas and was given a signature model, which was released six times before moving to Nike in 2003. This pair appeared in 2000 under the name “Kobe” and is now renamed the “Crazy 1”. The solid upper design made of coated material was inspired by Kobe’s favorite car at that time, the Audi TT Roadster. The innovative finish was controversial at the time, but it is also known as the memorial model of Kobe’s first NBA championship.
The flashy color “Sunshine,” which was unveiled at the 2001 NBA All-Star Game, will be reissued for the first time since 2013. The three-stripes are stamped on the three-dimensional molded body, and the color is unified with the shimmering yellow gold that symbolizes the Los Angeles Lakers. The midsole is colored silver, while the thickly padded lining and heel parts are black. The futuristic visuals, while evoking memories of Kobe’s heroic days for fans of yesteryear, have a charm that has not faded over the past 20 years.
