Nike presents the 2022 edition of its annual Doernbecher Collection!!
Since 2004, Nike has been working on a project called “Doernbecher Freestyle Collection” to donate to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon, where Nike is based. The project offers children fighting illnesses at the hospital the opportunity to design their own sneakers. The winning designs are actually sold as merchandise, and 100% of the proceeds are donated to the hospital. So far, more than 100 children have designed sneakers for the project, which has raised a total of more than $30 million. And for this year, new “Doernbecher Freestyle Collection” lineup for 2022 has been announced.
This year, seven designs were selected from a number of candidates. The models unveiled include the Nike SB Stefan Janoski, Dunk Low, Air Force 1 Fontanka, Court Zoom Vapor Cage 4, LeBron 19, Blazer Mid ’77, and Air Jordan 5 Low. The seven models in total, colored in different ways, are unique footwear that reflects the life stories of each child in their designs. They also create apparel and accessories designed in response to the footwear.
