The adidas Adimatic, a masterpiece that unleashed a cult following in the 90s, is back!!
The “adidas Adimatic” is a legendary pair of skate shoes by adidas released in 1996. The entire upper is made of beautifully colored suede, and fat laces are attached to match the extra-thick three stripes that is the icon of adidas. Also the thick midsole and durable gum rubber outsole provided grip and durability for intense skating performance. The “Urban Sports Line” of the time, as the name implies, was the forerunner of authentic skate shoes that could also be worn around town. The nostalgic, chunky silhouette captured the hearts of core sneaker freaks, and prices immediately skyrocketed on the streets. It became a masterpiece in the history of adidas, defying the trends of the time and breaking new ground.
And this time, the original two colors, bright green and chic black have been reissued in a simple color scheme that boasts an overwhelming presence, with the adidas Equipment logo (now the adidas Performance logo). The catchy three stripes sit on the side. The oversized performance logo on the heel, extra-thick laces, and the wavy midsole pattern with three perforations are all details of the original. The unorthodox visuals are instantly recognizable and are sure to attract attention in today’s “low-tech” sneaker scene.
