[Update 27 Jul 2022] New photos and information has been leaked from Chinese factories handling production of the New Balance 990V6 “Gray”! According to Chinese sources, the model’s release has been delayed to the later half of the year, and is expected to drop in Fall 2022 season.

[Update 20 Jun 2022] Closer looks at the New Balance 990V6 “Gray” has surfaced via @woganwodeyang. These new images showcase that the previously-shown tonal gray might include reflective blue elements, lending the shoe a unique shift. 

1. About New Balance 990V6 LS “Gray”

Every model of the New Balance “990” series has been a hit with the community, and there is now a sixth iteration “V6” in the works.

The New Balance 990 series has the longest history as the first model. In 2019, “990V5” was released. This New Balance 990V5 created a resurgence of popularity for the silhouette, and now the long-awaited next 990 model, the 990V6, has surfaced.

This leaked 990V6 seems to retain the elements of New Balance shoes, with the use of suede, leather, and mesh colored in the brand’s quintessential gray. In addition, the midsole is thicker and reminiscent of the V5, giving the 990V6 a seat in the “Dad Shoe” department. The sporty aesthetic of the 990 series continues on in the V6, with the N logo remaining large and sharper curves taking over the upper’s panels.

Given that the 990V6 falls under the Made in USA umbrella, fans can expect high grade quality consistent with others in the series. No official dates have made its way to our ears, but we expect it to drop within 2022.
